Travel Guide to Oregon
Here are some gems from the Sunset Travel Guide to Oregon [1968]:

- Out-of-state motorists, who know driving only as a struggle for survival, will find driving in Oregon a refreshing experience.
- Most city downtowns have as their focus a plaza, a square, or sometimes a civic center. In this sense, Portland's downtown today has no focus at all. Closest thing to a downtown center is the area around the fine old Pioneer Post Office.
- New buildings are rising in downtown Portland, and new freeways are abuilding.
- Portland Center, a new area, is a handsome blending of apartment towers, garden apartments, shops, and businesses, all interrelated with a system of parks and malls.
